Oak Herringbone

Oak Herringbone is a classic pattern for oak wood flooring where planks are laid at right angles to create a staggered zigzag design.

Here’s a brief overview:

  • Appearance: The herringbone pattern gives a refined, timeless look, adding visual interest and texture to a space.
  • Installation: Unlike the chevron pattern, herringbone doesn’t require angled cuts, but the precision in layout and alignment is essential.
  • Versatility: Works well in both modern and traditional settings, offering a stylish yet subtle pattern that elevates any room.

A very traditional type of flooring is oak herringbone (or parquet) flooring. The term herringbone relates to the pattern of the floor and not finish or colour. This pattern is made up of small blocks of flooring in a herringbone pattern or a range of many other geometric patterns. It can alter any area with its deluxe appeal.

Oak herringbone flooring is very much suitable with underfloor heating. Furthermore, it is marvellous for any room as it can be put through capricious temperature changes and is great for rooms with lots of glazing.

The engineered oak herringbone is less likely to warp than solid wood as it is more stable.

As the engineered herringbone is durable it can be laid in rooms heated with water based underfloor heating.
