Another popular hardwood used for flooring is Jatoba; the tree is grown in South America, Brazil and the Caribbean, growing to around 40m, with the trunk growing to about 180cm in diameter. It is also known as the Guapinol Tree and as well as engineered Jatoba flooring, it is used to create beautiful, unique furniture.
Jatoba engineered has been referred to as South American Cherry, although it is not related to the Cherry tree at all.
Jatoba Engineered Wood flooring is very beautiful, durable and hardwearing, making it ideal for floors (hardness measure of 230 ibf) and once installed, you should not need to replace them ever again. It is available in a unique tanned colour which has black stripes that develop over time. When exposed to sunlight, these stripes go a lovely red colour. This wood is regarded as the most luxurious floor by many.
