We are a bespoke, professional Wood Flooring specialist company with decades of expertise in providing premium hardwood and engineered wood flooring solutions to both our Domestic and Commercial customers.
We are based in Wellington, Taunton – Somerset and proud to serve many other surrounding areas.
4 Seasons Flooring is founded and managed by James and Lou Ryan. James learnt his craft at an extremely early age in the sports hall flooring industry—sanding floors, applying various finishes, installing bespoke new flooring systems, and removing worn-out floors. His hands-on experience gave him deep insight into wood flooring’s structure, finishes, and long-term performance.
James became fascinated with the vast world of wood flooring—the textures, grains, finishes, and installation methods. However, working exclusively with sports halls wasn’t enough to satisfy his growing passion to master all areas of the trade. He wanted more than just large-scale commercial work; he wanted to bring exceptional flooring into homes and unique spaces as well.
Lou brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in property and building management to the company. Her strong background in overseeing renovation projects, managing contractors, and understanding what makes a property truly stand out has been instrumental in shaping 4 Seasons Flooring’s vision. Her attention to detail and understanding of the broader building process ensures that every project not only looks beautiful but also works harmoniously within the overall structure and design of the property.
Together, James and Lou set out to become leaders in the wood flooring industry. Recognising the limitations placed on timber types within the commercial sector (due to strict specifications), they established their own wood flooring company—starting with domestic restorations and installations while continuing to serve commercial clients. Their combined expertise allows 4 Seasons Flooring to deliver outstanding results tailored to each client’s individual needs.
From Sawdust to Success – Building a Wood Flooring Business
James and Lou opened their very own wood flooring shop in Wellington, only 4 months since started trading as 4 Seasons Flooring – their shop provides durable, sustainably sourced wood flooring options at very competitive prices, as James is a great believer that Luxury can be made affordable without compromising on product integrity or customer service.
Together they now do what they love, working with many types of wooden flooring, taking pride in their finished projects and the company they built into a respectable and sustainable business – and to date, they are well known professionals & experienced wooden flooring contractors who offers extensive knowledge and have developed many unique ways to enhance and restore wooden floors, mainly due to their vast amount of experience and training, trading with some of the best leading suppliers to the trade.
